I'm an equal opportunity reader but have a crazy, powerful passion for YA. I am a former Independent Bookseller who still buys & reads books like a bookseller. I love to recommend books and share what I love with others!

Tarnished - Kate Jarvik Birch

Greedy corporate America, genetically engineered human beings being eradicated and a whistleblower of epic proportions. What's not to love about this series?

If the buying and selling of engineered  teenage girls in the first book wasn't creepy enough, just wait to see where this second book takes you.

What's worse is how it has the feel of reality. Get ready to be completely weirded out by this creeptastic book.

The Long Game - Jennifer Lynn Barnes

Nonstop, action packed, government conspiracies being solved by teens whose parents are high ranking officials or mega-bazillionaires? YES PLEASE! I'll have some more too!

Jennifer Lynn Barnes can write no wrong.

Poisoned Blade - Kate Elliott

Treachery, treason and turmoil. Playing the game for the ultimate prize. Freedom.

Excellent sequel. Loyalties and love tested leading up to a kingdom that needs to decide which direction it will fight towards. Continued cruelty? Freedom and fairness?

I look forward to a resolution! Revolution? lol

The Edge of the Light (The Edge of Nowhere) - Elizabeth George

I love Whidbey Island and it's inhabitants. Which is why I'm THRILLED this book wasn't the ending.

Now to wait...........

Ink and Bone: The Great Library - Rachel Caine

Knowledge is power, and too much power leads to the abuse of it.

The Library controls knowledge and the world. Corruption runs deep and it's up to a group of diverse students to make change.

Rachel Caine stays true to her page turning writing in this new series making the purchase of the sequel a must.

The Beauty of Darkness (The Remnant Chronicles) - Mary E. Pearson

I feel loss. My fictional friends have gone. The end of the Remnant Chronicles.

Pearson certainly left room for growth. One can only hope.

This book did not disappoint. Anxiety with the flip of every page. So much uncertainty. Of course, that is exactly what makes you want to keep reading.

No spoilers. Just total immersion in a world I love and characters I am going to miss.

The Sleeping Prince - Melinda Salisbury

I love it when you pick up a sequel and follow a new character. All the story lines line up and intertwine with with the first book. It looks like the next book will do the same with.......AH! No spoilers!

This is a great series full of everything a fantasy lover enjoys!

A Madness So Discreet - Mindy McGinnis

Forensic Files meets the times of Jack the Ripper resulting in a twisted mystery and a courtroom drama and the ultimate revenge.

I hope these characters are resurrected for another mystery! Or 10! ;)

The Edge of the Shadows (Edge of Nowhere) - Elizabeth George

I just love this cast of characters on Whidbey Island trying to navigate life through some very interesting life trials. I have no idea how long Elizabeth George will keep the small community I've hopelessly fallen in love with going, but I know there WILL be a fourth book. And I for one can't wait for it!

End of Watch: A Novel - Stephen King

The gang is back together for one last hurrah. Hodges, Holly and Jerome are dealing with even more supernatural weirdness in End of Watch while trying to finish the evil they have fought from day one, or book one I suppose. They also have to fight life.

Not the ending I was expecting, but.......closure.

I loved this trilogy and will miss the trio and their quirks that made them fit like puzzle pieces.

Reign of Shadows - Sophie Jordan

A world eclipsed by darkness and ruled by monsters, ruled by a murdering madman.

A girl hidden away in a tower and a boy hardened by the new, dark world.

This book was great and this series is going to be AWESOME!

The Star-Touched Queen - Roshani Chokshi

I love stories about Otherworld. I enjoyed this, but I never really connected to the characters the way I usually do.

Worlds crossing, the realm of Death, love and betrayal. All the good bones of a wonderful tale.

A good beach read for the summer.

The Crown's Game - Evelyn Skye

I had high hopes for this one. After all, the cover is badass.

The kingdom's two magician's are summoned for The Crown's Game. A magical tournament where the winner serves the crown and the other loses their life. Fun, right?

The story itself fell flat for me.

Not sure I'll pick up the sequel.

A Court of Mist and Fury - Sarah J. Maas

 Tamlin, Feyre and Rhys.

NOTHING in A Court of Thorns and Roses could have EVER prepared me for what came in A Court of Mist and Fury. NOTHING.

The intricacies of the story are mind blowing and anxiety inducing. And the end.....oooooh the end. I am going to be withering away until the next book is released. This book was like food, and I will starve until I know what happens next!!!

Seven Black Diamonds - Melissa Marr

Another home run for Melissa Marr.

The beginning of what looks to be, an addictive new series about war between the Fae and humans.

Characters that are engaging and memorable. An unravelling plot line with more twists and turns, more surprises and family ties, more questions of love and loyalty than anything offered by Days of Our Lives. But with magic and the power of the elements!

Can't wait to dive into the next one, as this was a page turner!

The Crown - Kiera Cass

Of course I loved it!

Familiar characters, funny dialog, stories of family, friends, betrayal and love. What I don't love is knowing it's over.

No more Maxon. No more America. No more Eadlyn and her siblings.

At least there was a happily ever after.

A fun and light hearted read to end The Selection series.
