The Fate of the Tearling - Erika Johansen

I've loved this trilogy and feel loss now that it's over. The loss is compounded by the ending!

Not at all what I expected. With the flashes of the past and the constant reminders of history repeating, I feel like I should've expected this conclusion. However....

***********SPOILER************

.......wiping clean the slate, the characters, the romances, the lessons, ALL OF IT, leaves me feeling a bit empty.

That being said it was still an engaging and adventurous read that I would recommend to anyone.

Props to Erika Johansen for imagination.

Silence Fallen - Patricia Briggs

Mercy and her adventures. She certainly continues to grow as a character and gathers an expanding arsenal of powerful allies. Monsters? Maybe. Still, powerful.

This particular adventure, has some fun surprises that solidify just how important Mercy is in the scheme of all things supernatural. Basically, she is a badass of epic proportions.

My only complaint is how long I'm going to have to wait for her next adventure!

The End of Oz - Danielle Paige

The End of Oz indeed.

I think the unpredictability of this saga has been the most fun. Including this ending!

This retelling of Oz has been one helluva ride. While I expected a bit of a bigger.....BANG....of an ending, I was still happy.

Besides that, Oz never really ends. Now does it?

Wintersong - S. Jae-Jones

I was super excited to dive into a new story of goblins, the old laws, the underground and sacrifice for the human's above.

It started off promising! Tales of The Goblin King, superstitions, otherworldly music and a girl that gives every bit of herself to keep her family together. Until a sibling is enchanted and needs rescuing. Then it gets a little...slow.

It took me awhile to get through this one. It couldn't hold my attention. Plus it was a bit too cheesy, romance than I really can get into.

That being said, if romance novels are your thing.......this one is for YOU.

The Forgetting - Sharon Cameron

It's been a loooooong winter. I spent the majority of rereading the entire Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas.

But the holiday titles are piling up and I started with this gift from my BFF first.

The Forgetting. Winner on the pile. Highly recommend. Eerie AF!!!

I was completely freaked out by the fact that an entire civilization forgets, EVERYTHING, every 12 years. Relying on their books, journals, to clue them in on what they forgot.

"I am made of my memories" becomes a sinister thing in this book. I was haunted on every page and when things begin to come together, get ready for a surprise!

GREAT book to break the ice. Pun intended.

Go F yourself winter!

Celaena Sardothien's life as Adarlan Assassin. Amazing. Heart wrenching. Enlightening.

The Chemist - Stephenie Meyer

Put the fears of reading another The Host, to bed. This was actually quite fun.

It was a bit tough in the beginning. A lot of information, I felt, that could've been left out or at the very least, condensed. However the overall idea and the characters really intrigued me. I couldn't stop reading.

By page 100 I was invested and by 255 was suffering anxiety. The good kind.

Science, black ops, government conspiracies and cover ups made fun again.

Dear Santa,

This year for Christmas I would like Einstein, Lola and Khan.

                                                                        I've been a good girl. ;)

Turbo Twenty-Three - Janet Evanovich

Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks. Thanks to Stephanie Plum for making me laugh. Thanks to Bogart Ice Cream for making me crave ice cream. Thanks to Ranger for being Ranger and thanks to Disney World for making magic.

Turbo Twenty-Three was just as fun as the twenty-two books that came before it.

Shall now wait a year to be amused by Plum's antics once again!

Heartless - Marissa Meyer

Heartless left me speechless.

I really thought that after The Lunar Chronicles, being an out of this world outstanding saga, anything Marissa Meyer wrote would SURELY be a let down.

Instead I find myself lost in another familiar, yet brand new landscape with familiar, yet brand new characters. Hearts. Chess. The Looking Glass. The strange rules of Wonderland, where rules don't apply.

I'm already anxious to return.

Replica - Lauren Oliver

***I WISH THIS BOOK HAD COME WITH INSTRUCTIONS***

So here: Start with whichever story you'd like. Gemma or Lyra. After each chapter, flip the book over and read the other characters chapter. Read and repeat.

I read Gemma entirely. Then Lyra entirely. I struggled with one story more than the other, but genuinely liked and enjoyed both. I believe I may have LOVED this book, had I read it properly.

The concept is awesome. The plot is great. When Helix comes out in 2017, I'll read it the right way and enjoy the stories the way they were meant to be.

A Shadow Bright and Burning - Jessica Cluess
Magic, sorcery, evil gods trying to rule humanity. Yup. This book has it all. This was an engrossing read that was easy to get lost in. I'm looking forward to the next book and hoping that it has a much power to suck you into the story as this first book.

The Graces - Laure Eve

Who doesn't love a good book about witches. And while this one was fun, I found the overall plot a little loose with an ending that was a little meh.

I kept expecting the story to go one direction to grow, and it would start to, then it would go back to be the silly school girl stuff that began it all.

The saving Grace, get it? HA! The saving Grace was the promise the end gives you, leading you to believe it the story COULD grow.

I'll give the next book a shot if for nothing more than it was a fun and easy read.

Good vacation book.

Three Dark Crowns - Kendare Blake

What a fantastic tale, fantastic characters, fantastic world.

Triplets, one destined to kill the others and become queen. Each queen with their own talent, magic, charm and personality to match their different upbringings.

This intricately woven story of the three queens have worlds colliding and loyalties being challenged.

With several breathtaking moments, you find yourself second guessing those you thought you could trust and wondering just who you, the reader, wants to see rise as queen!

What's a great story without a jaw dropping, no way, leave you hanging, ending? I'll tell you what! It's one that you can't wait to continue!

Can hardly stand  to wait for the next!!!!

Empire of Storms - Sarah J. Maas

It's not the end. Not even close. I'm so thankful for that.

Did I really need to be left nearly hopeless with a gaping hole in my heart while I wait for the next book?

Rude.

There is only one way to explain the 5th installment in the Throne of Glass series. Hot and heart wrenching.

Practice your yoga breathing, you'll need it for the crash of emotions, the relentless battles and the overwhelming losses.

I'm not sure I can wait for a year to find out what happens next. It may very well make me insane.

Warrior Witch: Malediction Trilogy Book Three - Danielle L. Jensen

It's been a minute since I've binged an entire trilogy in one sitting. I'm glad it was this one.

The snark, the complicated scheming, the wit, the war and the love and friendship. It draws you in, and you ride the adventure all the way to one of THE BEST ENDINGS I've ever had the pleasure of reading.

With so many series having rushed ends or ends that simply fall flat of expectation, the final turn of the page in Warrior Witch, had me feeling nothing but complete comfort and having no regret of immersion in Trollus.

A great series.

Stolen Songbird - Danielle L. Jensen

An age old curse from a human witch, trapping Trolls under a mountain. Stories told to human children. Not just stories after all.

When Cecile is kidnapped and taken under the mountain to be sold to the Trolls and wed to their prince, the stories become reality.

This was a fun and FUNNY book! The intelligent banter, the witty snark and the adventure itself all contribute to what was a total page turner.

Starting book 2 NOW!
