I simply could NOT go to bed until the end of this book! Much like Kestral, I had to see the end of the game. But war is no game.
Kestral and Arin. Can we call it a love story? Could it ever be? Or are their individual people far to hostile to each other to ever see a happy ending?
The revolution, which Arin played a huge role in planning, overthrows Ketsral's city and people in a calculated and strategic battle. Freeing the Herrani from ten years of slavery. Kestral, being the General's daughter, has herself been trained in war. Refusing to accept defeat, she sits in wait watching all. Kestral, a clever bird. She is GOOD!
Both of our heroes do things you wouldn't expect, throwing the reader into a, "what?" kind of mode. I love it when a book surprises me and keeps me guessing.
This series should keep me on my toes........and sleep deprived!
