Magonia - Maria Dahvana Headley

I expected a bit more for all the hype.

This book was really weird. I almost gave up on it about halfway through. There was too much inner dialogue and rambling factoids and my attention span was practically non-existent.

I told myself to give it twenty pages more before giving up. Finally things began to pick up.

A story of a girl that doesn't belong to Earth but to the sky. Where singing is power and an entire world exists. Magonia was the thing of tales, until it wasn't.

This book solidifies that I am a plot driven reader. Ultimately, I'm glad I held on for those twenty pages, because things got down right exciting.

I will read the next book in the series, I just hope I don't have to skim over so much....filler in the next book! Because the characters have my heart and Magonia holds my imagination.
